For over a decade, I’ve tried various productivity hacks.
Cal Newport, Ali Abdaal, Tim Ferriss, GTD, Second Brain, Bullet Journalling, and many more.
None of these techniques have been as consistently effective as the simple act of creating a clear-to-measure to-do list, setting a timer, and focusing on nothing except completing each item on the list. If necessary, I schedule breaks after an item is completed.
No hate for the productivity genre, but my biggest takeaway from years of diving into the next great productivity book or video, hoping that it will be ‘the thing’ that finally transforms me into a well-oiled machine, is that these hacks and advanced techniques actually made things fuzzier for me - the easiest thing to do is state what you need to do, and do it.
